Traditional singing in Galicia: the pandereiteiras

This workshop offers a practical approach to traditional Galician singing, centred on its intense, expressive and energetic vocal technique. We will work on repertoires belonging to different pillars of the oral tradition—such as muiñeiras and maneos—travelling through different areas of Galicia and their rhythmic and melodic particularities.

The tambourine will be a fundamental axis of the work, understood as a natural extension of the voice. We will learn to coordinate singing and percussion, integrating the rhythmic patterns that define this singular language.

The space is conceived as collective learning and as a way of valuing shared singing, highlighting the essential role of women in preserving and transmitting Galician traditional music.
