Euskal Herri: tambourine, dances and songs in Basque

In these sessions we will approach the Basque tambourine and its specific technique for accompanying traditional dance. Through progressive work, we will combine different strokes to build basic rhythmic sequences, suggesting variations that allow us to understand the richness of this musical language.

The practice will always be developed in connection with other traditional instruments such as the trikitixa or the alboka, and also with dance, understanding music as a collective act.

Singing will be a fundamental tool, not only to internalise rhythms but also to approach the musicality of the Basque language, as traditionally the one who sings is also the one who plays the tambourine.

It is essential to bring a tambourine to the workshop. All levels are welcome!
