Wolof dance
It is an honor to have the Senegalese dancer Michel Doudou. In addition to being a choreographer and dancer, he is also a singer, composer, and an expert in theatre for ballet.
With him, we will explore Wolof dance from a dual perspective: traditional and modern. The traditional heritage is rich with different dances depending on whether it is a baptism, a wedding, or another celebration. Today, however, the dance has evolved alongside young sabar groups, and we will also learn the most contemporary steps.
All of them connect us with the earth and our ancestors, seeking joy, confidence, and a full experience of our presence.
With live music, we will explore the relationship between music and body, understanding the drum’s pulse as a language that guides, supports, and awakens.
No previous experience is required: just a willingness to move, feel, and share.
