CRYSTALLIZATION IV

Crystallization IV is a poetic encounter between the flamenco body of Vanesa Aibar and the scientific perspective of crystallographer Juan Manuel García-Ruiz. Based on his research on the origin of life and the relationship between form and essence, the dancer brings these ideas to the stage: embodying the process of crystallization as a metaphor for thought becoming movement. This time, Aibar is joined by the Estampa collective—creators and programmers specializing in experimental audiovisuals and digital environments—as she enters a performative landscape where dance, artificial intelligence, and technological archaeology engage in a sensory dialogue.

Recognized as one of the most innovative artists in contemporary flamenco, Vanesa Aibar creates work that combines compositional rigor, formal audacity, and symbolic depth. Winner of the 2023 Max Award for La Reina del Metal, and acclaimed for works such as Sierpe, Mujer en Azul, and Áspid, her practice is a constant re-reading of flamenco through performance, research, and critical reflection. In her universe, art is knowledge and movement is a form of thought.
