FLAMENCO DISTRICT:

P'ALANTE / WILLI / EXPECTATIVA ZERO / WHILE

Four creators from the contemporary flamenco scene come together to present their latest short-format pieces and share their creative process with the attending audience.

AINA NÚÑEZ

P’ALANTE

Led by the dancer, pedagogue, and director Aina Núñez, a participatory immersion where tradition and contemporaneity intertwine in a body laboratory took place at the Centro Cívico Zona Nord. The body became an expressive tool, and flamenco—from its purest heartbeat to its most experimental forms—was the channel to explore intimate and collective narratives. The result of this intensive workshop is P’alante, a reflection of a shared process in which art manifests as a space of listening, creation, and empowerment.

With a vision that transcends formats, Núñez’s work—founder of the company LaboratoriA and collaborator in projects with artists like Rosalía, Las Migas, or Andrés Marín—is characterized by investigating flamenco’s possibilities from a scenic, community, and audiovisual perspective. This action is framed within her creative line where bodies, territories, and memory dialogue through movement.

MARTA NOGAL

EXPECTATIVA ZERO

Expectativa Zero is an intimate and vibrant window into the universe of the show Expectativas—a work born from body, word, and movement to explore the multiple transformations of motherhood: physical, emotional, and social.

In this scenic proposal, the artist immerses us in an honest journey where questions about personal identity, mental health challenges, and the pressure of social expectations that try to standardize diversity arise. Every gesture, every silence, every movement in space invites us to reconcile with our contradictions and trace a genuine, strong, and radically honest identity.

Born in Barcelona and trained between this city, Córdoba, and Madrid, Marta Nogal has a solid trajectory crossing the great stages of flamenco, contemporary dance, and cinema, collaborating with figures like Miguel Narros, Marcos Morau, or Carlos Saura. Awarded various prizes for her choreographic creations, she has developed an artistic work marked by experimentation, roots, and the need to express through the body.

MIRANDA ALFONSO

WILLI

WILLI is a brief but intense piece that summons the body in its wildest and most honest state. Through physicality and impulse, choreographer Miranda Alfonso explores intimacy as a fertile territory for shamelessness, excess, and self-revelation. Movement arises from the animal, from the primal drives of life, courtship, and death, in a choreographic journey that dialogues with Spanish dance from the nakedness of the unlearned.

Born in Barcelona, creator Miranda Alfonso trained in Spanish dance and flamenco at the Institut del Teatre. Her trajectory is distinguished by national awards and collaborations with companies such as La Fura dels Baus, Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, and DDCDanza, as well as participation in creations by artists like Israel Galván, Carlos Saura, and Andrés Marín. Her personal research continues through residencies and projects that delve into the expressive limits of the body.

NAYA BINGHI

WHILE

While is a creation by Naya Binghi that explores the tension between hope and violence through movement. Three performers embody bodies in struggle: warriors, victims, and part of the landscape, in a rhythmic and physical choreography that evolves from the compás of three to complex structures. The music, composed and performed by the dancers themselves, evokes gunshots, the bells of a herd, and sounds of nature, building a dense atmosphere between natural field and battlefield.

Naya Binghi develops an artistic practice that fuses flamenco and contemporary dance from a traditional root, addressing personal and sociopolitical themes. Her work investigates limits, collective memory, and the tension between silence and rhythm. She has been recognized as a “featured performer” and “featured choreographer” in the 123 program at the Suzanne Dellal Center and has brought her creations to festivals and cultural centers in Europe, Israel-Palestine, and India. She has completed residencies at renowned theaters such as Chaillot – Théâtre National de la Danse and Théâtre de la Ville de Paris and has been selected for the Fabrique Chaillot program for the 2025–2026 season.

Besides her independent work, she collaborates with artists from different disciplines, such as in the show Tzotzelet, alongside Sigalit Landau and Shushan.
